Typography

I like the format of the footnotes.

Footnote fleuron

Thanks!

It’s a bug, actually, not an intentional thing. The fleuron isn’t supposed to be there. But I like it too. I’ll leave it that way for now, at least!

There’s actually about a billion things I want to do with the typography. For instance, the wide left column in the main pages is to leave room for versals, sidenotes, and out-dented boxes. But I haven’t got those working yet. I’m also planning to add more floral/Victorian ornaments here and there (although it’s easy to overdo those).

Web typography is unbelievably time-consuming, as I know you know. I spent about three weeks of full-time work getting this site to look the way it does now. Was that worth it? Probably not, although I’m reasonably happy with it.

In the mean time, my vampire novel is on hold, and other projects are side-burnered.

I want to learn the trick of having multiple simultaneous rebirths, so I can get more done next time.
